After seeing a game the size Oblivion pulled of GORGEOUSLY on both the Xbox360 and the PS3, there is really no excuse for such lack-luster graphics in a game this high profile.
You cannot blame the poor looks on anyone but the developers of the game.
Nobody was limited by the Xbox360 or the PS3 on other multiplatform titles. And plenty of them look much better than what I've seen so far of GTA IV.

How about you just be quite, and release some small gameplay snippets. Just a few seconds here and there before the game's launch.

I can't help but feel like Microsoft was hasty when they began production of the Xbox360.
Any amount of DECENT hardware testing would have given M$ an opportunity to see the Ring of Death.
What's more scary is that there is a good chance they KNEW about the defect, and chose to ignore it and go into full production anyhow to meet their deadline.

I bought a PS3 for the SONY exclusives (which seem to be dwindling) and it's nice to also have a Blu Ray player as part of the deal.

They put a lot of stock in Blu Ray, and they pretty much FORCED Blu Ray upon the public.
It makes sense, it worked with the PS2.
